Our Story
Four decades of dedication to working sheepdogs
Irish Working Sheepdogs is more than a business — it’s a way of life.
For over 40 years, Michael has trained and worked with Border Collies on the Wicklow–Kildare border, honing a skill passed down through generations. The farm is both home and workplace, where the rhythm of rural life beats strong.
Alongside his wife Lisa, who ensures every visitor feels welcome, Michael shares his deep knowledge of sheepdog training and farming heritage with guests from all over the world. Visitors not only watch the dogs at work but also gain a deeper understanding of Ireland’s rural traditions.
What began as a local passion has grown into one of the highlights for visitors to Ireland. Yet at its heart, Irish Working Sheepdogs remains what it has always been: a family farm, dedicated to the land, the animals, and to keeping Irish farming knowledge alive for the next generation.
